So despite a peak  (so far) of 39 degrees internal temperature in the studio work is continuing. The inability to think under such conditions  is proving interesting, though frustrating and the work coming forward is from somewhere in the unconscious

Allora, nonostante il fatto che la temperatura dentro lo studio è stata 39 gradi (finora) il lavoro continua. L'inabilità di pensare sotto quetse condizioni sta provendo interesante se non un po frustrante. Le opere che stanno venendo fuori vengono proprio del subconscio.

che caldo

Well it's what we wanted, but che caldo in the studio. I've all sorts of plans but find that I am not yet finished with the crosses and the Xs or the dots for that matter. So for now I'll go with the flow and get them out of my system.

Beh, è la cosa che volavamo ma che caldo dentro lo studio. Ho tanti progetti in menta ma alle fine trovo che non sono ancora finito con le croce, le X o i puntini. Allora per adesso continuo così e vedremo le cose che vengono fuori...

St Antonio Abate and the Kingdom of the New Church

Passed our local church in Manciano just now - packed to the gunnels. Mass is still well attended in the village and then I remembered there is a big lunch today to celebrate St Antonio Abate  - so the stomach reigns even higher. Meanwhile we went to the Kingdom of the New Church down the hill and worshiped the good God DIY by buying the necessary bits and bobs to make my pulley operated paper hanging device for the studio.

home again

Well it's been a while…. back home again from NZ and back in the studio at last with my faithful studio assistant.  Framing ready for "Side by Side" an exhibition at Vinosofia in Spello next week and getting organised to take some works to brighten up our local "Festa della Casagna" here in Manciano.

Things I love about Italy… I have been down to the local blacksmith - still pretty common in these parts… and he's going to make me some steel frames for these couple of paintings (red on red on red and blue/black). I'm really hoping that this will turn out to be an answer to an ongoing issue for me.

Well finally I'm in the new studio and just getting back to work, painting paintings and not walls. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY.

A new start

I'm so excited. I've been working on a new studio a bit of carpentry which for a change has been pretty square. Hopefully it is say good by to sub zero working conditions. Though smaller it's light and beautiful and I already love it.
